Founded in 1961 by 17 visionary farmers in the heart of Tuscany's Chianti Classico region, Geografico—originally known as "Agricoltori del Chianti Geografico"—emerged as a cooperative committed to preserving the rich Tuscan wine heritage. Their innovative "Geographic Method" emphasized terroir-driven winemaking, revitalizing the local economy and attracting numerous winemakers to their cause.

Over the decades, Geografico expanded its reach, establishing wineries in Gaiole in Chianti and San Gimignano. In 2018, the Piccini family acquired the cooperative, ensuring the continuation of its legacy and dedication to quality.
